Fans of Beyonce in Africa might not completely miss out on the Renaissance world tour, as it has been reported that she is in negotiations to bring the eagerly awaited performance to Ghana.
The award-winning singer and songwriter will finally perform her Renaissance album live this summer, with gigs set for both Europe and North America, and the news has the music industry in a frenzy.
The fact that Beyonce rarely performs in Africa, with most of her tour legs taking place in the Americas, Europe, and Oceania, has long been an issue for her African fans.
Now that Beyonce is looking into whether it would be possible for her to bring the Renaissance to the continent, notably Ghana, it might finally be Africa’s turn.
‘These dates only form part of the experience and there are talks to see if a more family friendly version of her show can be taken to Ghana,’ the insider said, explaining that the shows in Europe and North America will feature ‘mildly explicit’ content in light of some of the lyrics on the Renaissance album.
Beyonce worked with Ghanaian musician Shatta Wale on the well-known song Already from The Lion King album, so if she visits Ghana later this year, she’ll probably be in good company.
