On June 23rd, 2023, I was holding a party in Osu at the recently established Corks Lounge (behind Osu Koala), so I chose to reserve a budget-friendly apartment or hotel close to the event grounds. Osu, as we all know, is one of the hottest hangout or nightlife areas, and this has influenced the pricing of nearly anything out there.
Finding an economical place to stay was not easy. I searched Booking.com, Airbnb, and Google.com extensively until I discovered one on Airbnb. The YET, a Modern Shipping Container Apartment, located in the heart of Osu.
About The Yet
The YET is a one-of-a-kind studio flats in central Osu are made from totally renovated cargo containers. They have modern elements and a clean design and are within walking distance to fashionable shops and eateries. The 14 sq m apartments are located in a quiet area of this cultural district and include air conditioning, hot water, wifi, and satellite television.
Checking-in At The Yet
The YET’s has a 2:00pm check-in policy. As soon as your reservation is confirmed, the host, Yinka, will walk you through the check-in procedure via Airbnb direct messaging. I carefully read all of the policies and came at the housing facility on the day of my check-in. When I rang the bell, the caretaker greeted me cheerfully and led me to my room. The check-in process was quick and easy. I quickly settled down and went out to coordinate my event.
Before leaving the apartment for the event grounds, I was handed a spare key to my room and the main gate. Upon my arrival, I was also given a parking space on the compound.
Receiving Guests
I reserved a one-bedroom suite with one guest room for $29 per night. I made the reservation using a dollar account, so I’m not sure what the cedi equivalent was at the time. However, if you are converting Ghana cedis to the dollar equivalent, it should be less than 400gh. The policies for receiving visitors were also extremely permissive. When I arrived, I informed the caretaker that three of my friends were coming over to change in my flat, and he didn’t hesitate for a second to give me permission. That is one of the most memorable experiences at the YET.

What To Take Note Of
When the lights are on, the windows can be seen to some extent from the outside. It is important that the curtains are correctly adjusted.
